Purchased energy

Purchased energy includes electricity, heat, cooling or steam that is generated outside of your operations (at a power plant). Your purchased energy-use will be for any facilities, buildings or electric vehicles you own or control.
GHGP reporting position:
  • Scope 2: Electricity
  • Scope 2: Heat and cooling
  • Scope 2: Steam
Preferred units of measurement:
  • Power: kWh, MWh

Data required

Facilities and electric vehicles (owned or controlled by you)

Electricity use

  • kWh
  • Name of the energy
  • Dates of consumption
  • Location of use
  • Facility/vehicle name
  • Renewable energy contract details
  • Any other data, eg. purchasing data
  • Assigned Segment

Additionally, any purchased heat, cooling or steam (delivered as a final product like electricity).
