Business travel covers any transport of employees for business purposes such as flights, trains and buses. It does not include travel in any vehicles owned or controlled by you.

Data required

Business travel emissions should be calculated in this priority order:

  1. Fuel-use
  2. Total distance travelled by vehicle type or
  3. Total spend on fuel or service

Suppliers are unlikely to provide fuel-usage data.

Business travel data in this order of priority:

  • Total volume of fuel used or
  • Total distance travelled by vehicle type or
  • Total spend on fuel or service
  • Mode of transport
  • Class of travel (eg. business class)
  • Unit of Measure
  • Dates of consumption
  • Start/end locations
  • Distance travelled
  • Number of trips
  • Vehicle name and/or type
  • Any other data, eg. purchasing data
  • Assigned Segment

Not all fields may be applicable.
