Continued the roll out of the food waste collection service across the city, to suitable residential properties (set to be completed by March 2023) whilst also maintaining the council’s current rubbish and recycling collection frequencies.
Improved 450 council homes with energy efficiency measures and clean heating systems.
• Installed energy conservation measures in 61 council buildings, cutting our corporate property emissions by around 1700 tonnes of CO2 equivalent per year
• Invested £58m from the council pension fund in to renewable energy infrastructure
• Installation of the largest social housing rooftop solar retrofit in Europe
• Installed solar panels on 12 council buildings, generating a combined 660kWp of clean electricity
